We base everything we do in our gymnastics programs on the mission statement above. Gymnastics is the means, not merely an end in itself, by which we teach children about themselves. Our objectives include teaching children to deal with physical and mental challenges and how to overcome them in the gymnastics environment.

From our Kindergym program, through our General Gym program and into our Development and Competitive program all our coaches are trained to understand and teach gymnastics with a focus on helping each child to eclipse their best.

Gymnastics can teach very important life skills such as goal setting, overcoming obstacles, dealing with fear, and working consistently and persistently to achieve excellence. Through our regular coach training program we are constantly reinforcing this objective. We also believe very strongly in the importance of community within the Club environment and work diligently to create a unified, co-operative, professional team.

Our Programs

KINDERGYM

We offer 45 minute Kindergym classes with parent involvement for 2 – 3 year olds, and 1 hour independent classes for 4 – 5 year olds.

Kindergym suits all ability levels and combines games, music, group work and structured activities to develop the fundamentals of movement in a fun, positive and encouraging environment.

The goal of this program is to teach children the basics of gymnastics. In order to achieve this goal we also focus on teaching children important skills such as following instructions, co-operating in group activities, lining up, waiting their turn and interacting positively with the instructor and other participants.

Children will be able to progress from this program into the General Gym program when they start primary school.

General Gym_thumb

GENERAL GYM

Our General Gym program caters for children aged 5 – 12 years. Classes run for 1 hour after school and on Saturday mornings.

The program incorporates a range of activities to develop strength, flexibility, coordination and the fundamentals of gymnastic skills, using a variety of gymnastic equipment. The General Gym program is a great base for our development and competitive training programs, as well as other sports that children may pursue now or in the future.

New children aged 12 years and over will be offered classes suitable to their age group and ability level. Please contact us to discuss your child’s needs.

Development_thumb

ECLIPSE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Eclipse Development Program caters for girls only and builds on the foundations learnt in the General Gym program. Gymnasts train 2 – 4 hours per week and work through 5 progressive levels.

Gymnasts can move from the Eclipse Development program into the Competition program when ready and will be put into the appropriate competition stream for their ability. At all times we will do what is best for each gymnast so that they will be challenged to reach their potential in a safe, fun and progressive manner.

COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

Our competitive programs are by invitation only. Gymnasts in these programs train from 6 – 14 hours per week to compete in the Gymstar program or Australian Levels Program (ALP).
